Biomedical Engineering; It is an interdisciplinary engineering field that is fed by many scientific fields such as computer and software engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science and technology, physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics, and produces solutions to problems in medicine and health with engineering approaches. Biomedical engineering, in close cooperation with the health and medical world, development of medical imaging systems and software, development of devices for measurement and analysis of biological signals, development of clinical diagnosis and treatment devices, production of biomedical materials and implants, regenerative tissue development, personalized treatment methods It aims to train engineers in the fields of development, production of pharmaceutical drugs and therapeutic biologics.

 

Biomedical engineers; be able to produce strategies, devices, and solutions for diagnosis and improvement for the health sector by applying engineering principles to life sciences, develop new products needed in the biomedical sector and make designs that can improve existing products, have professional and ethical standards, are aware of lifelong learning and are prone to teamwork, effective communication, and innovative thinking abilities can be defined as advanced engineers.

 

Samsun University Biomedical Engineering Department was established in 2018 within the Faculty of Engineering and started its educational activities by taking its first students in the 2019-2020 academic year. As of the 2021-2022 academic year, it will continue to accept students with a quota of 40 students.
